Pazhou Zhongdai Square Shelter Hospital passed the completion acceptance stage and opened on Nov 24, marking that five mobile cabin hospitals projects had been completed in Pazhou, Guangzhou's Haizhu district, providing 37,640 beds.
The first mobile cabin hospital in Haizhu that opened to meet the needs of the current COVID-19 outbreak in the city started to treat patients on Nov 5. To date, the first, second, third, and fourth phases of Guangzhou Shelter Hospital, as well as Pazhou Zhongdai Square Shelter Hospital have all opened and are all located in the Pazhou Convention and Exhibition area of Haizhu district. They mainly rely on the five large public buildings that have been built to transform the building layout, water supply and drainage, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as electrical and intelligent systems to meet the needs of the mobile cabin hospitals.
Among them, the first phase of Guangzhou Shelter Hospital covers an area of 130,000 square meters and is located in the A area of the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. The second phase of the hospital covers an area of 100,000 sq m and is located in the D area of the exhibition center. The third phase of the hospital covers an area of 25,000 sq m and is located in the Area C of the exhibition center.
The fourth phase of the hospital covers an area of 30,000 sq m and is located in the Poly World Trade Center Expo. Pazhou Zhongdai Square Shelter Hospital covers an area of 17,500 sq m and is located on the 1st to 3rd floors of Zhongdai Plaza.
As of Nov 24, a total of 350,383 mobile cabin beds and isolation beds have been planned to be built in Guangzhou, including 143,540 mobile cabin beds and 206,843 isolation beds. Among them, 95,504 mobile cabin beds have been completed and transferred, while 48,036 beds are under construction. In addition, over 49,999 beds isolation beds have been completed and transferred, while 156,844 beds are under construction.
