Since the latest COVID-19 outbreak, the public security organs and police auxiliary staff in Guangzhou's Haizhu district have been working towards serving the public, guarding COVID-19 prevention and control checkpoints to ensure people's health.
On Nov 14, a young child's head was stuck in the security net and his body was hanging in off the 6th-floor balcony at a residential building on Haizhu's Fengyang Street. Police officer Wu Hongchao from the Haizhu district public security bureau immediately went upstairs to help. The police and the child's father grabbed the child's arm and one grabbed its clothes to protect the child. They used their feet to expand the gap in the security net and rescued the child.
On Oct 28, a pregnant woman on Fengyang Street was about to give birth, and the ambulance could not enter because of the narrow road. Zhu Yong, an officer from Fengyang police station, and Cheng Weixiog, an officer from Pazhou police station, helped the pregnant woman who was sitting on a chair because she was unable to move. Along with other police officers on duty, they took turns carrying her a kilometer on foot before safely putting her in the waiting ambulance.
On Nov 10, Liang Dongqu, an officer from Haichuang police station, received a report that there was a pregnant woman about to give birth. The health department was quickly contacted, while police helped clear the road and arranged medical staff in time so that the woman would be able to be transported to the hospital in an ambulance at the fastest speed possible.
