As part of its recent COVID-19 prevention and control efforts, Haizhu has provided about 808,000 packages of household goods, with a total cumulative weight of 2,021 metric tons, to residents as of Nov 12.

Haizhu has mobilized 1,165 drivers from other provinces and cities to ensure that these packages can be transported to residents seamlessly. At present, there are 5,107 distribution personnel and 1,957 sorters in Haizhu district to assist in these efforts. The emergency department of the city has also been allocating emergency materials to support the district's COVID-19 prevention and control efforts, providing 2,000 quilts, 2,000 blankets, and 2,000 pillows for the temporary centralized housing of the drivers and support staff that are distributing these packages to residents.

Haizhu has been constantly replenishing its reserves of living materials to ensure that household goods and other living materials can be provided to residents. According to its emergency plan to ensure the supply of vegetables, fruit, meat, poultry, grain, oil, and other living materials, e-commerce platforms are storing more than 10 times the amount of their usual stock, with the emergency storage of major e-commerce platforms exceeding 720,000 square meters.

On Nov 12, Haizhu organized a number of supply and marketing cooperatives and enterprises to open 25 temporary supply points in Haizhu's Guanzhou, Xingang, Binjiang, Pazhou, Nanzhou, and other neighborhoods to ensure that residents are able to obtain packages of household goods and other living materials in areas with inconvenient logistics and distribution. It also coordinated the restoration of some business sites.
