Haizhu's GDP in the first three quarters of the year reached 178.7 billion yuan ($2.53 billion), with a year-on-year growth of 4.1 percent.

The value added of its primary industry totaled 0.93 billion yuan, down 16.3 percent year-on-year, the value added of its secondary industry was 34 billion yuan, up 10.6 percent, and the value added of its tertiary industry was 144.81 billion yuan, up 2.9 percent year-on-year.

During this period, the total tax revenue of Haizhu was 10.53 billion yuan, down 41.7 percent and up 30.5 percentage points over the first half of the year, which was down 72.2 percent. Revenue in the general public budget was 5.24 billion yuan, an increase of 33.8 percent and 25.6 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year, which was up 8.2 percent. Expenditure in the general public budget was 10.32 billion yuan, up 18 percent and 4.0 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year, which was up 14.0 percent.

In the first three quarters of the year, the decline of natural gas prices helped cause the industrial output value of enterprises above designated size in Haizhu to decrease by 4.8 percent to 60.84 billion yuan, which was still 10.9 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year, which was down 15.7 percent. The district's sales value was 61.02 billion yuan, down by 4.7 percent and 14.1 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year, which was down 18.8 percent. Its operating revenue reached 61.55 billion yuan, an increase of 27.2 percent and 4.1 percentage points higher than the first half of the year, which was up 23.1 percent.

In this period, Haizhu's total sales of wholesale and retail goods reached 352.85 billion yuan, an increase of 13.8 percent and 3.4 percentage points lower than the first half of the year, which was up 17.2 percent. The turnover of its accommodation and catering industry was 7.27 billion yuan, up 4.3 percent and 3.0 percentage points higher than that of the first half of the year, which was up 1.3 percent. The total retail sales of consumer goods in the districts reached 70.17 billion yuan, up 2.1 percent and 1.2 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year, which was up 0.9 percent.

From January to August, the operating revenue of the service industry above designated size in Haizhu reached 107 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6 percent and 2 percentage points lower than that of the first half of the year, which was up 5.6 percent. Among them, the revenue of the profit-making service industry above designated size reached 70.47 billion yuan, up by 2.7 percent, while the revenue of the new-generation IT service industry above designated size was 36.44 billion yuan, up 5.8 percent. The operating revenue of its leasing and business services sector above designated size was 21.95 billion yuan, down 2.7 percent.

In the first three quarters of the year, Haizhu completed 38.25 billion yuan of fixed asset investment, an increase of 13.6 percent and 3.5 percentage points lower than the first half of the year, which was up 17.1 percent. Of this total, 15.83 billion yuan was invested in construction and renovation, down 6.5 percent, while the investment in real estate development was 22.42 billion yuan, up by 34 percent.
