On Oct 15, the opening ceremony of the 132nd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, was held online.

There were 34,744 export exhibitors at the Canton Fair, an increase of about 40 percent over the previous edition, focusing on household goods, household appliances, building materials, kitchenware, hardware, and other fields. More than 400 exhibitors from over 30 countries participated in the import exhibition.

The Canton Fair has organized more than 35,000 domestic and foreign enterprises to participate in the exhibition, an increase of 10,000 from the last edition, concentrated on home appliances, building materials, kitchenware, hardware, as well as other exhibition areas.

The fair has attracted 2,094 brand enterprises, as well as more than 3,700 enterprises with titles like state-level high-tech enterprises and Chinese time-honored brands. There are more than 3.06 million pieces being exhibited, a record high. Among them, there are over 130,000 intelligent products, over 500,000 green and low-carbon exhibits, as well as over 260,000 products with independent intellectual property rights.

This edition of the Canton Fair features three major exhibition components: an online display platform, a supply and purchasing matchmaking service, and a cross-border e-commerce zone. The online fair has set up dedicated columns for exhibitor exhibits, virtual exhibition halls, news and activities regarding exhibitors and the fair, as well as conference services. The export exhibition has 50 exhibition areas according to 16 commodity categories, while the import exhibition has six commodity categories grouped into corresponding exhibition areas.
