The 132nd Canton Fair will open online on Oct 15, with more than 35,000 domestic and foreign enterprises participating as exhibitors, an increase of more than 9,600 to the 131st edition of the fair.
"This edition of the Canton Fair has innovatively carried out its exhibition organization work," said Xu Bing, press spokesman of the Canton Fair and deputy director of the China Foreign Trade Center.
The exhibition features three parts: an online exhibition platform, a supply and procurement matchmaking service, as well as a cross-border e-commerce zone. Online columns will also be set up for exhibits from the participating exhibitors, virtual exhibition halls, online displays about the participating exhibitors, fair related news and activities, as conference services will be set up.
In addition, 50 exhibition areas will be set up for export exhibitions according to 16 categories of commodities, while the import exhibition areas will include six categories of themed commodities.
To date, there are 34,744 exhibitors in the export exhibition, an increase of about 40 percent from the previous Canton Fair, while the import exhibition features 416 exhibitors from 34 countries.
Uploads for the exhibitor exhibits began on Sept 15, with more than 3.06 million exhibits uploaded, a record high. Among them, there are more than 130,000 smart products, more than 500,000 pieces of green and low-carbon exhibits, as well as more than 260,000 products with independent intellectual property rights.
In addition, this edition of the Canton Fair will see the service length of the Canton Fair online platform extended from 10 days to five months.
The Canton Fair organizers will increase new media marketing efforts, expand local social media channels in target markets, and attract new buyers to register for the fair. They will also precisely target buyers from more than 220 countries around the world and carry out 80 batches of email precision marketing.
