Pazhou artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone was selected as a 2022 Guangdong digital service export base on Sept 27. It was the only unit in the province to receive this designation.

Guangzhou's Haizhu district has fostered many internet platform enterprises, such as Root Cloud, driving more than 33,000 enterprises in the Pazhou artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone, among which more than 2,800 are data service enterprises.

In 2021, the revenue of the new-generation information technology service industry in Pazhou reached 54.03 billion yuan ($7.59 billion), helping Haizhu district rank second in Guangzhou.
