The Guangdong Provincial Health Commission issued a notice to comprehensively promote the application of the electronic health code that displays a user's COVID-19 vaccination record in Guangdong before the end of this year.

Residents can receive and present the electronic health code after completing real-name authentication in the Yuejiantong applet. Vaccination points scan the electronic health code to obtain the user's personal information and complete the vaccination according to the procedures.

The notice requires that all cities complete the promotion and application of the electronic health code by the end of December, as well as that all vaccination sites use the electronic health code to process vaccinations.

The new service has been piloted in Guangzhou No 12 People's Hospital, Guangzhou Liwan Central Hospital, and the COVID-19 vaccination site on Yuancun Street in Tianhe district. It will be rolled out and applied across the province starting from Sept 20.
