The first council meeting of the Pazhou Industrial Internet Alliance was held on Sept 15, with 19 leading industrial internet companies and backbone enterprises, including Vipshop and Root Cloud, taking part in it.

With the high-quality development of the Pazhou artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone, Pazhou's leading platforms and enterprises have flourished, with the industrial internet gradually developing into a characteristic industry of the zone's digital economy sector.

The establishment of the Pazhou Industrial Internet Alliance aims to further build a strong platform for the development of the industrial internet. It also aims to bolster the backbone of the industrial internet ecosystem, integrating the leading platforms and enterprises and their industrial chain resources to promote technological innovation, application innovation, and model innovation, building Haizhu district into a key industrial internet center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Of the 19 members of the alliance, eight companies are unicorn innovation companies in Guangzhou in 2021 and two companies have been listed or have cross-industry, cross-field, characteristic, and professional industrial Internet platforms recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology or have built textile and garment digital features in Guangzhou's five major industrial clusters.

At present, the development of the industrial internet in Haizhu district presents three development paths: the industrial internet on the manufacturing side; the industrial internet on the supply and distribution side; as well as the reverse industrial internet on the consumer side.

From January to July 2022, the main business income of 130 industrial internet sample enterprises in Haizhu district exceeded 20 billion yuan ($2.85 billion), maintaining a year-on-year growth. Overall, the sector grew by more than 10 percent year-on-year.
