The Guangzhou municipal bureau of planning and natural resources issued a final plan to improve the environment of the Binjiang section of Yuejiang Road.

In September last year, Haizhu released a design proposal for the road section. Haizhu selected three winning plans from eight works. In January, Haizhu announced the three winning plans, and announced the final plan on Aug 24.

Haizhu will focus on maintaining a harmonious relationship between humans and the environmental space, strengthening the integration of traditional elements with modern characteristics, as well as emphasizing biodiversity protection.

The Guangzhou municipal bureau of planning and natural resources stated that the landscape environment of the riverside section of Yuejiang Road will be improved through these designs, while the section's function of being an "urban public living room along the Pearl River" will be emphasized to benefit Guangzhou residents and tourists.
