On Aug 12, the Seal Cutting Works Exhibition of South Cantonese Printing Press opened in Shixiang Garden. The exhibition will run until Aug 31.

This exhibition is also one of a series of activities for the seventh Lingnan Painting and Calligraphy Art Festival and the 15th anniversary of the opening of the memorial hall in Shixiang Garden. This exhibition displays 115 works by members of the South Cantonese Printing Press that showcases traditional seal cutting.

At the opening ceremony, Zhou Shujian, vice president of the Guangzhou CPPCC calligraphy and painting institute, president of the Guangzhou Haizhu district CPPCC calligraphy and painting institute, and president of South Cantonese Printing Press, donated screen printing works to the memorial hall in Shixiang Garden.

The owners of Shixiang Garden, Ju Chao and Ju Lian, were famous seal carving and Tibetan seal masters at that time. The exhibition is being held to further strengthen research on the history, culture, and theories of Lingnan seal studies, as well as to promote the improvement of Lingnan seal carving skills.

The memorial hall in Shixiang Garden will serve as the research base of the South Cantonese Printing Press and create a platform for the exchange of Lingnan printing studies.
