Lijiao area in Haizhu adds 117 public facilities

On Aug 10, the third meeting of the 4th Guangzhou Municipal Planning Commission Regional Planning Committee was held. At the meeting, the detailed planning of the Lijiao area in Haizhu district was approved.

As part of the plan, 117 public facilities will be added to the Lijiiao area. After optimization, there will be 342 public facilities in the area. The land area of collective ownership within the planning scope is about 141.91 hectares, and the land area of State ownership is 228.62 hectares. The collective ownership is mainly Lijiao village (130.55 hectares), and the State ownership includes Guangzhou Port Group and the CCCC Fourth Navigation Bureau.

The total population within the planning scope is 94,600, an increase of 300 compared with the current control regulations.

In January 2019, the detailed planning of the Lijiao area in Haizhu district was approved by the Guangzhou municipal people's government, with a total land area of 807 hectares and a total construction volume of 10.63 million square meters. Among them, the reconstruction area of Lijiao village is 1.51 hectares, while the construction volume is 4.36 million sq m.

After the adjustment, the public facilities cover 65 items in eight categories, an increase of 17 items compared with the current control regulations.

According to the plan, about 104,400 sq m of industrial public service facilities are planned, making up 6 percent of the industrial construction area. The Lijiao area will add three new municipal facilities, including two 110 killowat substations and one garbage transfer station.

It is planned to set up educational facilities according to the planned population size of no less than 94,600, consisting of one middle school, one nine-year school, five primary schools, and 10 kindergartens.
