At the 11th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award Ceremony, Professor Chen Junlong won the 2021 Wu Wenjun Outstanding Contribution to Artificial Intelligence for proposing the "Broad Learning System" prize.

The Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award is the most renowned Chinese smart science and technology award, with this year's awards ceremony taking part at the 2021 China Artificial Intelligence Industry Annual Conference, which was held from July 16 to 18. In addition to being the current Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology, Chen is the deputy director of Pazhou Laboratory. He also took the lead in establishing the Algorithm Industry Alliance in Pazhou.

Formerly the chair of the Department of Electrical and Computational Engineering at the University of Texas at St. Anthony, Chen is currently a member of the European Academy of Sciences and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
