A sluice gate along the Shiliugang River in Haizhu district features Lingnan (Guangdong and the nearby provinces in southeastern China) water culture.

The sluice gate is located under the wind and rain porch bridge, which includes two gate towers, two pavilions and four landscape corridors over the Shiliugang River.

The sluice gate has mechanisms for flood control, drainage and storage, water storage and replenishment, and is also great for sightseeing.

The old sluice gate was built in 1960. In September 2015, after nearly 60 years of operation, in order to improve the comprehensive functionality of the water area, the sluice gate was relocated and reconstructed.

The project was constructed in two phases, with the main project completed in March 2018. The reconstructed sluice gate forms a closed Shiliugang River flood and tide control system.
