On June 22, the first Guangzhou Pazhou Algorithm Application International Competition Award Ceremony and algorithm industry summit was held in Pazhou, Guangzhou.

Shenzhen Xinjian Science and Technology won the championship, Beijing Shenshi Technology won second place and Guangzhou Wulala Technology won third place.

Since the competition was launched on March 30, about 249 companies have participated. The participating projects involve industrial intelligent early warning, intelligent retail, intelligent building, intelligent disease course management, intelligent teaching and other fields.

The participating companies are mainly from Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing and other cities, with more than 60 percent from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The competition lasted for nearly three months. After the preliminary round, semi-finals, and finals, a total of 19 teams won awards.

The third-place winner Guangzhou Wulala Technology developed a sign language interpretation glove. The glove, combined with two sets of algorithms and an app, is able to interpret sign language and voices in real-time.

"Through the competition, we got to meet some new partners. At present, our company is connecting with a company engaged in VR human-computer interaction algorithm,” said Yu Weijia, general manager of Guangzhou Wulala Technology.
