Haizhu Zhihui Science and Technology Park and Haizhu Public Library launched the upgrade and renovation of the Zhihui branch of Haizhu Public Library project this year to provide better services for residents.

The Haizhu Zhihui branch has been well-liked by readers since it began its external service in 2019. The number of annual visits and the number of borrowed documents ranked first in Guangzhou's Haizhu district for three consecutive years. Last year, it was awarded the designation of being a Guangzhou citizen's cultural space.

The newly upgraded library has been relocated to Building A4 in Haizhu Zhihui Science and Technology Park, with a planned collection of 15,000 books, new exhibition areas as well as reading activity areas, creating a new public cultural space that integrates public reading, art exhibitions, and cultural events.

In addition, the G+ branch, Qiaojian branch, and Wansheng branch of Haizhu Public Library also were awarded the designation of being Guangzhou citizen's cultural spaces.

People can enjoy a 20 percent discount on food and beverages in different branches with a Haizhu Public Library membership card. The Haizhu Zhihui branch will also cooperate with enterprises in the park to carry out preferential reading activities.

In recent years, Haizhu district has built a number of libraries with rich themes and good services through the "library + bookstore," "library + cafe," "library + subway," as well as "library + science and technology industry base" models.
