The Haizhu and Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Award Ceremony was held at SYSU on June 13. This was the highest-level innovation and entrepreneurship competition in Haizhu.

The competition was organized by the Haizhu district people's government, SYSU, and China Construction Bank's Guangdong branch. Since it was launched in August last year, it has attracted 251 projects from home and abroad.

After the preliminary round, semi-finals, and the top 12 promotional rounds were completed, 12 projects stood out in the end and won the first, second, and third prizes in the entrepreneurial group and the growth group respectively.

Among the top 12 award-winning projects, there were six national high-tech enterprises, seven SYSU alumni projects, as well as two unicorn and future unicorn enterprises.

The first prize winner of the growth group was Guangzhou Fordeal Technology's Middle East cross-border e-commerce B2C platform. Boasting a complete supply chain and strong technology, it has received nearly $100 million in investment from many well-known enterprises and has developed into a leading comprehensive cross-border e-commerce platform in the Middle East.

The first prize winner of the entrepreneurial group was Easy Eai's intelligent perception and AI processing chip. It solves the problems of insufficiency and high costs of the existing robot perception system.

Haizhu is home to eight colleges and universities, 20 scientific research institutions, as well as 644 high-tech enterprises. It has boasted the highest number of unicorn enterprises in Guangzhou for two consecutive years.
