The 2022 Guangzhou Science and Technology Week, an eight-day science popularization event, is being held in the city from May 21 to May 28, featuring over 370 science popularization activities.

On the first day, 162 bases for science popularization, institutions of higher education and other entities opened to the public offline or online.

On the evening of May 21, the "Science Night" activities were carried out at 29 venues across the city, such as Guangzhou Zoo, Haizhu Wetland Park and Shennong Caotang TCM Museum.

The offline festival was held at the main venue of the event, Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center, on May 21 and May 22 and was open to the public for free.

The Guangdong Science Center is soliciting 40 children aged 10 to 14 to join in a "Life Science" exploration camp on May 28 for free. The camp will be led by Dr. Wu Meng, a science popularization influencer, and explore life science through experiments, watching movies, and touring the science center.

Lectures on aerospace and astronomy will also be carried out to provide the public with a closer look at the culture, history, and theories behind spaceflights. Non-confidential laboratories, showrooms, as well as other places for popularizing science and technology in the district will be opened to the public free of charge on an open day during the week.
