The 131st Canton Fair has set up a special cross-border e-commerce zone, providing a precious opportunity for the cross-border e-commerce industry to showcase its growth and development opportunities.

Currently being held online due to COVID-19 prevention and control measures, China's largest import and export trade fair has cooperated with the country's manufacturing network by setting up nine industry pavilions for machinery in the cross-border e-commerce zone covering sectors like machinery manufacturing, industrial equipment, building materials, as well as health care.

The Canton Fair is providing smart matchmaking, diversified services, and other methods on its digital platform to facilitate trade between global buyers and suppliers, allowing both sides to achieve precise supply and demand matchmaking without being on-site. On the first day of the exhibition, more than 1,500 exhibitors participated and showcased more than 250,000 products.

Tencent has provided overall technical support, platform R&D services, and cloud resource support for the online hosting of the Canton Fair for its fifth consecutive edition. At this Canton Fair, the company set up a special technical support team, as well as carried out intensive development, testing, and security drills in a short period of time to ensure the stable operation of the online platform.

The Canton Fair's years of successfully online exhibition experience have promoted the integration of trade events and digital technologies. It has also demonstrated a feasible way for the exhibition industry to respond to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, creating a digital "model" for exhibitions.
