Organizers of the China Import and Export Fair and Made-in-China, a B2B platform, jointly launched an online section for cross-border e-commerce on Friday, aiming to better facilitate trade negotiations for export-oriented companies.
The section is part of the online services of the fair, better known as the Canton Fair, which kicked off online on Friday.
The section displayed more than 250,000 varieties of goods from over 1,500 Chinese exhibitors on its first day, according to sources with the Made-in-China.
Products being displayed ranged from manufacturing machinery, industrial equipment and construction material to medical and health care.
"We secured several orders on the first day," said a sales manager surnamed Zhang, of Taizhou Champion Material Science and Technology Co Ltd.
It is the first time for the company, based in Taizhou of East China's Jiangsu province, focusing on production and sales of PVC flooring and artificial grass, to display its products online during the Canton Fair.
To realize better matchmaking between suppliers and buyers, the Made-in-China has created a diversified online marketing service, using its multi-language platform, search engine and overseas social media and other channels to promote business opportunities.
