After nearly 10 years of wetland restoration, bumper harvests are now common in Haizhu Wetland. During the harvest season, lychees, longan, guava, and other fruits are covered with branches, while there are also wild fungi on the fruit trees.

The rice paddy field ecosystem that Haizhu Wetland has implemented is designed to expand the ecosystem's diversity, while providing habitat and food for living organisms.

The traditional agricultural system in Haizhu made the list of China Nationally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (China-NIAHS) in November 2021. The system is a characteristic agricultural production system created over 2,000 years ago in Haizhu that relies on the high temperature, abundant rain, and dense water network north of the Pearl River. The core area of the system is Haizhu Wetland.
