Dear residents:

To protect you and your family from COVID-19, please observe the following safety protocols during the post-holiday travel rush:

1. Take good personal protection. Stay updated with the COVID-19 pandemic situation in China. Those from prefectures (districts or cities) where any middle- or high-risk area is located should defer their time of returning to work. Plan your travel route wisely to avoid passing through any middle- or high-risk area. During your trip, please wear a mask properly, maintain good personal hygiene, wash your hands often, keep a safe social distance from others, and avoid crowds.

2. Report to your community committee and employer. If you have been to any place that has been visited by COVID-19 patients, or have traveled to any city with reported local cases, you must report the relevant information to your community (village) committee or residential community, employer, or hotel you are staying at within 12 hours upon arrival in Guangzhou, and follow the required health management measures.

3. Get tested. If you have visited any city with reported local cases in the past 14 days, you must provide a negative COVID test report within 48 hours when you come/return to Guangzhou, and take a test at the airport or train station upon arrival or at a nearby testing site within 24 hours of arrival. If you have traveled outside Guangdong in the past 14 days, please provide a negative COVID test report within 48 hours and get tested again within 48 hours upon arrival in Guangzhou. (You may find testing sites in airports, train stations, as well as other parts of the city. For more information, visit the official website of Guangzhou municipal health commission.)

4. Practice proper health management. In 14 days after you arrive in Guangzhou, you are required to monitor your health, as well as avoid crowds and gatherings. If you experience fever, dry cough, fatigue, decreased sense of smell and taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, myalgia, or diarrhea, you must report to your community (village) committee, employer, or hotel you are staying at immediately and go to a nearby fever clinic. You must truthfully inform the healthcare workers of your travel history. In such cases, public transportation should be avoided.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.
