The 2nd session of the 16th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Haizhu District Congress opened on Jan 19, with about 500 members of CPPCC participating in it. Wen Zhiwen, Haizhu district CPPCC chairman, gave the Haizhu district CPPCC work report.

The opening meeting was hosted by Qiu Jianhua, vice chairman of the Haizhu district CPPCC. During the two-day conference, committee members will fully discuss the various undertakings in Haizhu district and give suggestions on them.

In 2022, the Communist Party of China (CPC) will hold its 20th National Congress, which is a major event in the country. The Haizhu district CPPCC will implement the rectification work to improve the leadership of the CPPCC party. It will highlight ideological and political leadership, creating a good atmosphere for forging ahead together.

The Haizhu district CPPCC will give high-quality suggestions, while following the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), as well as the "one zone-one valley-one circle” layout, which refers to Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Experimental Zone, SYSU International Innovation Valley, and Haizhu's cultural, business and tourism integration circle.

The Haizhu district CPPCC will also attach importance to institutional innovation, improve the CPPCC system, as well as promote the work of the CPPCC to change from focusing on what has been done and how much has been done to what has been achieved.

Haizhu will strengthen the construction of the CPPCC and transform the advantages of the CPPCC system into governance efficiency.
