The 2021 China's Best Employer of the Year Awards Ceremony was held online on Dec 18 by the Social Development Research Center of Peking University and Zhaopin, an online recruitment platform. With its outstanding talent attraction, Haizhu district, Guangzhou, won as China's best talent attraction region for the third year in a row.

The reviewers mainly investigated the performance of the applicant regions in talent attraction, talent retention rate, and talent vitality. They made the list combined with big data of urban talent flow found on the Zhaopin app.

Haizhu made plans for the introduction of new talents in the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Experimental Zone. It combined talent rewards with corporate contributions, assessed 741 industrial talents, and awarded 100 million yuan ($15.69 million) for talents.

Haizhu promoted strategic cooperation with famous enterprises and universities, one of which is the Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, establishing the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Industry.

Haizhu also cooperated with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University, and South China University of Technology by organizing recruitment fairs for their graduates.

Haizhu as well serviced talents in education, medical treatment, and housing. In 2021 alone, the district provided medical services to 20,000 people and presented 11,000 apartments for market-oriented talents, housing 4,375 people so far.
