The research report of the Pazhou Digital Economy Index (PDEI) was issued on Dec 3. The Pazhou Think Tank and expert teams from Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications conducted in-depth investigations into Pazhou to complete the report.

"Pazhou is making progress in scientific research and innovation as well as digital economy and is at the forefront in China. Pazhou should focus on supporting innovative and high-tech industries and promote business cooperation in the future," said Shi Junyi, an associate professor at the School of Statistics of BNU.

The index compares Pazhou with national pioneers such as Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Guangdong as well as the country as a whole, and provides detailed data to support the city in better exerting its advantages and taking on a globally-leading role.

As a national demonstration base for new industrialization industries, Pazhou has gathered a group of leading companies in artificial intelligence and digital economy. "As a technological innovation enterprise in Pazhou, most of our partners gather here. According to PDEI, there is strong development potential here, and we are confident about the city's future prospects," said Huang Yigeng, a vice president of Guangzhou Techplant.

Haizhu district will build the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone into a world-class digital economy demonstration zone, and contribute its wisdom and strength to develop the digital economy in Guangdong province, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and China as a whole.
