Haizhu aids rural revitalization in Weng'an county

Haizhu district in Guangzhou, Guangdong province has been helping Weng'an county in Guizhou province alleviate poverty since 2016. Haizhu has provided 107 professional talents in education and medical hygiene and 219 million yuan ($34.26 million) in fiscal funds to Weng'an county.

Haizhu's financial funds for east-west cooperation in 2021 were 92.487 million yuan, and it raised more than 5 million yuan in social assistance funds to support people's livelihoods in counterpart assistance areas.

It also helped Weng'an county use Haizhu's exhibition resources to develop its main industries, such as the tea industry. At a tea promotion conference in Haizhu, Weng'an county sold a lot of tea and raised more than 3 million yuan in donations for rural revitalization efforts.

Haizhu has assisted in the introduction of six industrial projects in counterpart assistance areas with 279 million yuan in investment. It also built a live-stream base in Weng'an county to cultivate live-stream talents and create a new model for industrial collaboration.

The refined tea production line in Weng'an county began operating in 2021 with an annual production capacity of 800 metric tons.

Haizhu also helped people in Weng'an alleviate from poverty by relocating them to new homes. Haizhu introduced a Guangzhou social worker service model in Weng'an county and established volunteer service teams. It built the Weng'an county fifth primary school, which cost 99.6 million yuan, and the Languan village primary health center.

In addition, Haizhu cooperated with Weng'an county to build a modern agricultural industrial park and achieve labor transfer employment and accepted 179 labor transfer jobs.
