The electronic commerce (e-commerce) business in Guangzhou's Haizhu district has achieved an eye-catching performance over the past couple years, especially since the Pazhou artificial intelligence and digital economy experimental zone was approved as a China e-commerce demonstration base on Sep 3.

In 2020, e-commerce-related companies in this zone accounted for 21.4 percent of the total and achieved a total business income of 269.01 billion yuan ($42.14 billion).

Pazhou is home to many well-known e-commerce companies such as Inman, Meishang and YSG, which have a large online presence. According to Meishang's manager, "we are already in the process of preparing for the Double 12 online shopping festival." Colorkey, a Meishang affiliate, topped the Tmall lip glaze and eyebrow pencil hot list during the past Double 11 online shopping festival on Nov 11.

A staff member from YSG said that the Pazhou area offers the resources and services that help the company continue to develop as the area has many clusters with high-level innovation resources.

Haizhu will pay more attention to developing the e-commerce industry, and by 2025, the district is expected to foster more than 1,000 live streaming companies and build over 50 live streaming bases.
