Zhujiang Party Pier Beer Culture and Art Zone in Guangzhou's Haizhu district will invest funds of more than 1 billion yuan ($157 million) it received from public bidding on Nov 4 to further renovate and upgrade its facilities.

The project has a total floorage of 186,000 square meters and will include the headquarters of Guangzhou Zhujiang Brewery and a beer cultural center, the transformation of the coal sheds and the malt warehouse as well as some outdoor renovations. 

The construction of a tower and the commercial complex of a hotel is the main part of this project. The cost of renovation for this project is 33 million yuan, and the price tag for new construction is 1.03 billion yuan.

Zhujiang Party Pier Beer Culture and Art Zone took shape from the previous structures built by the Guangzhou Zhujiang Brewery. In 1985, the brewery was put into production and took the lead in launching China's first bottle of pure draft beer and white beer and became China's first pure draft beer demonstration production base.

The zone integrates cultural creativity and high-end catering, is a 3A-grade tourist attraction in China, and a landmark of Guangzhou's night economy.
