Guangzhou's Haizhu district, where the China Import and Export Fair takes place, has been devoting continuous efforts to implement an innovation-driven development strategy that will boost entrepreneurship and innovation.
The district now has set up a total of 47 technology business incubators including three at the national level and five at the provincial level as well as 31 maker spaces. It is now home to 629 high-tech companies.
Up to now, 19.87 million yuan ($3.11 million) of subsidies have been granted to promote entrepreneurship and employment to offer more financial support for Haizhu companies.
The district has established a service system for innovation and entrepreneurship, and has attracted a host of 25 award-winning projects to settle down in Haizhu.
A comprehensive enterprise cultivation system has been established, and a total of 12.99 million yuan has been allocated to support high-growth small and medium-sized enterprises.
Focused on innovative and entrepreneurial talent services, a total of 26.35 million yuan has been paid for talent funding and various support subsidies.
Bases for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements have also been built.
