The upcoming 130th session of the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), which will be held from Oct 15 to 19 in Guangzhou's Haizhu district, plans to host plenty of domestic exhibitors.

A press conference was held by the State Council Information Office on Sept 14, briefing the latest conditions of the 130th Canton Fair.

The Canton Fair was the only large-scale exhibition in China that didn't resume its on-site exhibition since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the upcoming event is set to mark the resumption of all large-scale exhibitions in China, symbolizing new progress in China in achieving a balance between COVID-19 prevention and control and economic and social development.

"Invitations for all domestic purchasers will be fully opened for the first time," said Chu Shijia, director of China Foreign Trade Center. He added that companies and industrial associations managing sectors such as large supermarkets, retail chains, industry wholesalers, e-commerce and supply chain management are key groups for the fair.

The event will feature the new development paradigm of dual circulation in which domestic and overseas markets reinforce each other with the domestic market as a mainstay. The online platform of the Canton Fair will strive to attract global purchasers and help Chinese companies win more global orders.
