An international wetland exhibition hall will be built at the entrance of Haizhu Lake Park in Guangzhou's Haizhu district, Nanfang Plus reported on Aug 18.
The regulatory plan and the architectural concept design of the center were released on Guangzhou's government procurement platform yesterday.
The hall is expected to cover a total area of 7.2 hectares with an overall floorage of 20,000 to 30,000 square meters. The center is aimed to make people more aware of wetland protection and learn more about wetlands, and also signify the importance of wetlands and how they maintain global freshwater reserves and purify water.
The overall design of the hall will also make full use of the landforms and landscape to make the center in harmony with its surrounding environment.
The Haizhu National Wetland Park, covering an overall area of 1,100 hectares, is currently China's largest and the most beautiful national wetland park in the downtown area of megacities.
