The Canton Tower scenic area in Guangzhou's Haizhu district will be renovated into a world-class waterfront city "parlor."
A working plan for promoting the high-quality development of the riverside areas by the Pearl River in Haizhu district was approved on Aug 16 during the 15th plenary session of the 12th CPC Haizhu district committee.
A total of 12 settings will be built on the 29.2 square kilometer riverside areas by the Pearl River in the district, and showcase the charms of the district in areas spanning high-end industries, scientific innovation, historical culture and urban landscape.
Priority will be given to the renovations of old villages and factories alongside the Pearl River, and the overall layout of a three-dimensional transportation network featuring roads, tram lines and water routes will be further optimized.
