The new-generation IT service industry achieved high-speed growth in the first half of 2021 in Haizhu district, Guangzhou.
The output value of enterprises above a designated scale in the industry totaled 20 billion yuan ($3.1 billion) in H1, up 31.4 percent from the same period last year.
Haizhu's key industries in the digital economy such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data and cyber security continued their momentum in the first half of the year.
The district's continuous efforts in attracting big businesses contributed significantly to the outstanding data in H1.
Haizhu rolled out a series of measures to boost the development of 11 digital economy-related sectors such as industrial Internet and high-end software, including establishing a database of target firms and a workstation to further attract industrial investment.
Moreover, the district has formulated special policies to encourage commercial property owners to introduce new generation IT service enterprises. Since the beginning of 2021, a total of 53 related projects have been registered in Haizhu, ranking first in the city.
Haizhu has also striven to cultivate local firms. It created a list of key enterprises, which now covers 30 local internet and technology companies. The district is exploring the demand of local Haizhu authorities and enterprises, which will help create growth opportunities for technology companies.
In addition, Haizhu has been improving its service system, which is an important part of its favorable business environment.
After investigating the basic needs of talents working in Haizhu, the district has built an integrated service platform, covering issues from vaccination, children's education to household registration.
