Guangdong First Port Memorial Hall is an antique-style building complex constructed in 2006 to welcome the Swedish “Ostindiefararen Götheborg” antique merchant ship's revisit to Guangzhou. It is a historical memorial. The memorial hall has a floor area of 1,932.8 square meters, a total building area of 2,182.2 square meters, and an exhibition area of 843 square meters. There is a fixed exhibition called "Glory – One-port Trade and the Ancient Huangpu Port," which is made up of five parts: the Silk Road, Guangzhou under the "one-port trade," the "Gothenburg" and Guangzhou, the Ancient Huangpu Port, and new Huangpu. The exhibit shows the rise and fall of the Guangzhou Maritime Silk Road, the Thirteen Hongs (banks or trading companies) of Canton, and the Ancient Huangpu Port. In 2013, Guangdong First Port Memorial Hall was listed as a municipal national defense education base. In 2014, it was selected as a patriotism education base of Guangdong province.
Eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed in the museum
