Located at No. 628 Zhongkai Road, south of Haiyin Bridge, Haizhu Sports Center was the sepak takraw field at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. The first phase of the venue, which is now to open to the public, has a total built area of 25,000 sq m, with 32 badminton courts, a 1,040-seat mobile stand, a cold and hot shower system, and a central air conditioning system, plus several conference rooms, broadcasting studios, and parking lots. The comprehensive training gym on the first floor, which offers training in gymnastics, martial arts, taekwondo and so on, brings a wealth of talent to Haizhu district. In addition, a table tennis center and billiards center are also open to the public. The center provides services to institutions and enterprises, schools, and individuals all year round. Phase II of the venue, with its standard indoor swimming pool, is expected to be put into use in 2024.
