On January 8, Haizhu district held a news conference on its plans to advance the high-quality development of the Pazhou artificial intelligence and digital economy pilot zone. A number of experts, officials and representatives of enterprises attended.
The construction launching ceremony of the Pazhou high-tech zone and the opening ceremony of its advisory committee of experts were held at the conference. The Pazhou pilot zone was officially approved as a provincial high-tech zone by the Guangdong Provincial Government on December 25, 2020 in compliance with current provincial high-tech zone policies. The advisory committee of experts of the zone is led by Xu Zongben, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is made up of academicians and technological professionals, which is a key measure to push forward the zone’s professionalization, digitization and internationalization. The experts will provide intellectual support for Pazhou’s strategic development.
Since 2015, the Pazhou pilot zone has made significant progress. Its west region has attracted Alibaba, Tencent, Xiaomi and many leading enterprises in artificial intelligence and digital economy. A total of 23 major projects have started in the zone, with total investment of 78.2 billion yuan.
